Mobile Pre-Purchase Auto Inspection FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions before getting a used vehicle inspected? Find answers about our mobile inspection process, what we check, scheduling, reports, pricing, and what to expect before you book.

Mobile Prepurchase Auto Inspections provides independent pre-purchase vehicle inspections for buyers considering used vehicles. Instead of requiring you to bring the vehicle to an inspection shop, our inspectors travel directly to the dealership, private seller, or other arranged vehicle location within our service area.

Our goal is to give buyers useful information about a vehicle’s condition before they decide to purchase.

A vehicle can look good in photos and perform well during a short test drive while still having mechanical wear, previous repairs, leaks, structural concerns, or other conditions worth knowing about.

An independent inspection gives you another source of information before you negotiate, request repairs, sign paperwork, or complete the purchase.

The inspection comes to the vehicle rather than requiring the vehicle to come to us.

After you book and provide the vehicle location, we coordinate access and send an inspector to the dealership, private seller, or other suitable location. This can be especially convenient when you don’t own the vehicle yet or you’re buying from another city or state.

Yes. Our mobile service is particularly useful for remote and out-of-state buyers.

Depending on the package selected, you may receive inspection findings, photos, video, diagnostic information, and a verbal summary that can help you get a closer view of the vehicle without attending the inspection yourself.

We offer inspection options for standard used vehicles, exotic and specialty vehicles, electric vehicles, classic vehicles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, and RVs.

We also offer Custom Inspections for qualifying requests that don’t fit our regular packages.

Our 200-point vehicle inspection is a detailed bumper-to-bumper evaluation covering applicable mechanical, structural, diagnostic, interior, exterior, safety, and road-performance areas of the vehicle.

The inspection is performed on-site at the vehicle’s location, helping you get a more complete picture of its condition before you negotiate or buy.

Inspection coverage can vary based on the vehicle type and package selected. While our comprehensive inspections follow a 200-point vehicle evaluation, certain checks may differ for electric vehicles, motorcycles, classics, RVs, commercial vehicles, and other specialty vehicles.

This allows the inspection to focus on systems and components relevant to the vehicle you’re considering.

Applicable inspection packages include diagnostic scanning of supported vehicle systems.

Available diagnostic information varies by vehicle make, model, year, equipment, and system accessibility, so not every vehicle provides the same diagnostic data.

Applicable packages may include paint and body evaluation, paint-meter inspection, and road observations related to steering or alignment.

If you already have a specific concern about the vehicle, provide it when placing your order. This allows the inspector to know which areas are particularly important to you before arriving at the vehicle.

Applicable inspections include a road test when the seller permits it and the vehicle and driving conditions allow it to be performed appropriately.

During the road evaluation, the inspector may observe steering, alignment, suspension, braking, transmission behavior, unusual noises, and other driving characteristics relevant to the vehicle.

No inspection can guarantee that every existing or future problem will be discovered. Some issues may be intermittent, inaccessible, concealed inside components, or not present during the inspection.

Our inspection provides an independent assessment based on the vehicle’s accessible and observable condition at the time of service.

Inspections and report delivery times depend on inspector availability, vehicle location, seller access, and the package selected.

Many inspections are completed within approximately 24–48 hours after payment and successful coordination of vehicle access. Packages advertising specific report turnaround times will follow the applicable service terms.

Rush inspection availability may be offered depending on the vehicle location and inspector schedule.

If you need an inspection completed urgently, contact Mobile Prepurchase Auto Inspections before placing your online order so our team can confirm whether your requested timeframe can be accommodated.

Yes. If you have questions about inspection findings or something in the report that you don’t understand, contact Mobile Prepurchase Auto Inspections for clarification.

The purpose is to help you better understand what was observed during the inspection—not to make the purchasing decision for you.

Applicable inspection packages include photo documentation of the vehicle and noteworthy conditions observed during the inspection.

Depending on your package, this may include photos of scratches, dents, leaks, rust, tire condition, interior wear, body damage, and other findings.

Some packages also include 360° video documentation.

Inspection findings give you information to consider before completing the purchase.

Depending on the situation, you may choose to discuss the findings with the seller, negotiate the purchase price, request repairs, seek additional specialist evaluation, reconsider the vehicle, or continue with the purchase.

The final buying decision always remains yours.

Yes. Our $99 Mobile Follow-Up Auto Inspection is available for qualifying previous orders.

If the original inspection identifies concerns and the seller agrees to make repairs, we can return to the vehicle and recheck the applicable areas after the seller reports that the work has been completed.

This gives you updated information before you finalize the transaction.
